HISTORY

1986

COS Computer Systems is established in Spain

  • In 1986 COS Computer Systems was established in Spain, a subsidiary of the Swiss company COS AG Computer Systems. From the beginning, COS specialises in the purchase, sale, rental and leasing of large new and used IBM compatible computer systems, such as Amdahl, Hitachi or Comparex, including the corresponding peripherals.
1995

Creation of the Maintenance Division

  • In January 1995 COS Computer Systems, S.A. creates the maintenance division based on its experience in this activity in Europe since its creation.
1996
COS is born in Madrid

  • In 1996 the Spanish company COS Maintenance S.A. is born in Madrid with 7 employees to perform HW maintenance services to its customers' systems, absorbing all the resources, personnel and portfolio that existed since the origins of the company in Spain.
1999

National and international expansion

  • Little by little, and always hand in hand with its customers, COS began to expand. It opened offices in Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, La Coruña, Málaga, Mérida... to continue its international expansion in Latin America, taking its services to Portugal, Mexico and Argentina.
2000

Evolution of the portfolio

  • In the same way, COS expands its portfolio of Services, from its Core of hardware maintenance of Mainframe Systems and other IBM platforms to the rest of the Systems and periphery of the manufacturers in the market. At that time, COS became the leading company in Multivendor and Multiplatform Infrastructure Support Services in TPM mode (third-party-maintenance or alternative maintenance service provider to the manufacturer) in the European market.
  • We then acquired various skills to offer Data Centre Management Services (BRS, CDR, Colocation, Hosting, Housing, etc.). These services allowed us to have our own Data Centres in different countries, and to give a more global vision as a provider of Services and Solutions for IT Systems Infrastructures.
  • We provide Monitoring Services to be proactive with our Clients and to know the trends of our operations and assets before any incident occurs. In addition, we provide operation, management, administration and exploitation services to clients, both for on-premise environments and for Cloud environments managed from our Operations Centre.
  • At the same time, and based on the needs of our Clients at the time, we moved towards the provision of Customer Services. This allowed us to expand our Service Portfolio in the field of User Support: Service Desk, Workstation Support and Provisioning and Field Services.
Today
  • Today, and with 25 years of experience, COS Global Services has the capacity to provide integrated services that provide solutions to all the needs of our customers with an end-to-end responsibility covering the entire life cycle of the IT asset.
  • With more than 1000 professionals around the world, COS provides services to more than 845 clients, including major companies in the IBEX35 and Government.
